Visitors of the popular walking trail to Lake Jasna in Kranjska Gora have been able to cross a new suspension footbridge since October, built by the Kaskader team between November last year and June this year.

The Lake Jasna area has always been a popular gathering place for both locals and tourists. The new suspension footbridge, intended exclusively for pedestrians, now complements the circular walking trail and connects Kranjska Gora with the area where the former Hotel Erika once stood, as well as the road leading to the Vršič Pass.

The suspension bridge, part of Slovenia’s engineering heritage, connects the walking path across an isolated mound in the floodplain of the torrent known as Baba with the existing trail on the steep left bank of the stream. The bridge spans 30 meters and rises 20 meters above the Pišnica River.

On both sides, the bridge is anchored using rope anchors, while load-bearing capacity is ensured by 24-millimeter steel cables. The walking surface is made of 5-centimeter-thick oak planks, and the Kaskader team also arranged the access paths leading to the bridge.

The bridge was officially opened in early October after receiving its operating permit.
